I thought my search and rescue team was going to be deployed to aid the relief effort along the gulf coast, so Sarah and I celebrated our anniversary a week early. This is us toasting with the bottle of wine we brought back from our Baja honeymoon.
I ended up not going anywhere, so we celebrated again the following weekend, our actual anniversary. This is us sitting atop the Moqui Dugway, enjoying a moonlit view of the Valley of the Gods. Not a bad way to spend your first anniversary.
We spent the weekend exploring southern Utah’s Henry Mountains, the last in the lower 48 to be named. Here’s Sarah contemplating the view, overlooking Canyonlands and the Lasal and Abajo Mountains.
At the trailhead, heading up to the peak of Mount Ellen. It was a beautiful weekend, and the perfect way to celebrate one year of marriage.
