The man, the myth, the legend: Abe

Posted April 5th, 2009 by Jeff

Jeff here. First, let me apologize for not getting this message out earlier. Considering there was nothing but insistent picture requests in my email, I’ll get straight to the point.

Sarah went into labor at about 9:00 on Thursday night, just after dinner with Bill and Jeralyn, who are visiting in anticipation. By about 9:00 Friday morning, after hours of pretty intense contractions, it was determined that baby wasn’t tolerating labor well. His (yep, it’s a boy!) heartrate was decelerating with each contraction, and given the stage of labor Sarah was in, Dr Lindstrom recommended an emergency c-section.

To make a long story short, at 9:56AM MST, weighing it at 8lbs 2oz, measuring 20″, Abraham Sawyer Hankens joined us in the operating room.

We’re headed home in just a few, so we’ll have some more pictures soon, to keep you all from sending any more threatening emails.

  1. That is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! Everyone loves the name. They also seem partial to Ash. Lots of love surrounds him.

  4. Welcome little Abe! Bravo Sarah and Jeff! He’s adorable! I called Shane right after I sent the pix and we were both in tears…fond memories of Jack with all the black hair. We love the Biblical name Abraham…my great grandfather’s name. Love and blessings to the Hankens family of three!

  5. Josh and I both wish all three of you lots of love! We’re absolutely thrilled that little Abe is here. He is beautiful!
